The sun rises far away along the horizon…somewhere far away..beyond the endless trees of the central Indian jungle. A faint clear blue summer sky replaces the dark night veil, as the darkness falls. What was heard till now was just an owl’s hoot and cuckoo song seem to have faded into the chirps of sparrows, little birds, and sweet songs of the Robin. Deers and Sambars are very alert now. This is the time, they probably think… as a resting tigress gets up unaffected by all this… she stops while walking … she has her ears for something else… With her pause you feel the entire jungle has frozen.., the bird sounds have disappeared.. deer have raised their necks above the grasses… they are not feeding anymore…You hear a call from a langur monkey from a branch of a tall tree nearby…

It is a lull before the storm.

Every forest, mountain, river, or island has a story to tell…
